Just bought a BJ40 with a 3b engine. The oil pressure tends to be low while idling. Is this typical?

my 70s has a 3b .. and ive often wondered the same thing .. standard guage has three bars ... mine sit on next to nothing on idle ... then once revving sits around the first bar ...
talked to alot of people with a 70 and even the 4.2 says around the same thing ...

apparently the senders crap out or something .. ripco hace sender units and autometer guages cheap enough .... if you are that worried
