stupid winch question

i should probably know the answer but i need some one to tell me i think, is it possible to fit a pto winch to a 70 series 4.2 diesel automatic? i can't remember if the pto fits to the g/box or transfer

Yep,, PTO will fit the transfercase.

The big question is does your transfer case have the drive gear in it or do you have to split the case to fit it. Pull off the PTO cover on passenger side of transfer box to see if you have the gear.

well that may be a little difficult
as i don't have the truck yet, but keep finding automatic 4.2s, i would prefer a manual but may not have a lot of choice!!
