Was it found in any reasonable condition or did the wankers trash it?

And here we go again..... (from another forum)

This is getting way too common

Last night (18/3) my mate got his Fj stolen in Wellington. Guessing
its probably the same sort of people that stole that one in Brooklyn
late last year and tried to steal my bros around the same time.

It was stolen from Upland Road in Kelburn.
The truck is dark purple with a white roof, diesel, roll cage, pto
winch, bfg mts on white rims. Rego is MD8020

He has done heaps of custom stuff to it so its definately an
original wagon.

If anyone gets offered any parts or has any info let me know.
Its pretty terrible when that someone pinched it, he has spent
hundreds and hundreds of hours rebuilding it in the last 2 years and
just got it back on the road.

Cheers, AJ

If you find out the culprits and the law doesn't do you any good, let some of us in CHCh know, I will personally fly up with winch handle and dish out some good old fashion eye for an eye justice. Know how you feel dude, 1 stolen truck (recovered) and broken into twice.

Yep...... That just about sums it up.
I know the subject is not funny but Wopass's description of the offenders brought a smile to my face.

 an electric fence????

I know its not all that relevant, but if your leaving your vehicle parked for a while at home out of the garage, an electric fence unit works wonders.

Works well if your mail box keeps getting smashed in the middle of the night too

I guessing there is a ring in Wellington, likey to one of three types

1. Parts
2. Selling whole (risky for them)
3. Joy riding.

At a guess, a FJ40 wouldn't be hard to hotwire.

I think selling them for parts is the most likey. Doubt they would be shipping them South so it must be North and not too far at a guess. If it is a ring......... gangs

Sorry for your loss, I know it's gut wrenching.

If there's no market...........

There may be some legal issues around electric fences, oh what the hell "Ma, get da shot gun, we gonna shoot some low down dogs!"

Mike, I bring back my call for dedicated forum for this type of thing

Yep agree there, how about it flashing across when someone posts a description of it???? I reckon their doing it to strip and sell, we boys generate a market you know, we need to be prudent about who we purchase off. Could be a good info ring in the end.

Yeah if I had an Fj40 in Welly I would definately have it well off the street. They tried twice to steal my brothers and now its kept well off the road away from prying eyes. Pity my mate didnt do the same. Us landrover owners dont have these problems you see :?

haha yea. Left the keys in the landy since saturday with just the tarp thrown over the top. The keys were still there when I went to use it today. Although we do live in a secluded section so that may help
