Wanted Urgently: Samurai Diff head or crownwheel/pinion set

As the title says, looking for a 3.7:1 samurai rear diff - whole head preferably, but a crown wheel and pinion set will also do the trick.... Would want a crown wheel/pinion set to be in good nick, but I'd be interested in a whole head in any vaguely drivable condition... only needs to be a-framed and driven off road at this stage!

Are you sure their 3.1's? just seems quite high for a samurai...

I have a 3.7 Rear Samurai Diff head in Pieces. Not pulled apart by me.
Crown and pinion look sweet, is missing the spider gears and i think the bearings need replacing.
U interested?
Chris

Yep interested - is the input shaft still in place? If so, is there any play in it? Just that from my experience, once they've been driven with play in the input bearing the crownwheel/pinion can be stuffed even if they look fine...
How much would you be after for it?

Did you get a chance to check the input bearing?
Not really sure what it's worth - how does $100 sound - if the input bearing feels ok?

Checked the input bearing.
Has no slop or play that i can feel.
Crown wheel looks to be in good shape with no visible wear or rounding of the teeth.
Diff was pulled apart by a dick and they did not mark bearing cap sides and crown wheel location. They also lost the spider gears.
did you want the whole housing and the bits i have or just the Ring and pinion?
C.

Hi, the whole lot would be good if you don't want any of it - Thinking I might be able to just put some new side bearings in it and see how it goes. Spider gears are no prob, I have a few centers floating around.
BTW, I have a good 3.9:1 ring&pinion set and a whole lot of assorted diff & tcase bits lying around if you need anything.

had a real close look at the pinion teeth last night and there is a bit on wear and pitting on them.

Can send you some pics if you want.
As Im know not sure weather the diff will be usable you can have it for the cost for postage.
Will take it in tomorrow morning and get a price for you on postage to Ch Ch.
Don't suppose you have a WT rear diff housing lying around. the one i have is bent
Chris.

OK sounds good, I think they come in just under the 25kg limit on standard post so postage is pretty reasonable.
Don't have any sj/sammy housings, but I have some vitara ones.... good excuse to go coils!

Hey mate. Sorry taken me a while to get it sorted.
Normal courier wont take it as to heavy, but can put it in with our freight company and send it with the next load of project gear to Ch Ch. Should be under $50.
We normally get our stuff sent to a depo in Hornby, Is their any particular depo you would want it sent to? pretty sure they can send to any.
