leave whats in there

will be fine

been done a million times over with hardly any issues

then you can spend more money on a nice air filter and HEI and high torque starter etc etc etc

Do you want best or most cost effective (bang for buck)?
If you want to biff massive dollars at it, go with a saginaw 5 speed and atlas transfer case, Won't be much change from $15k though I would think.

Or otherwise 5speed from a 60 series 2H or 80 series 12H and transfer to suit.

Most cost effective, I know where there is a recon 60 box, just something that makes the getting there a bit cheaper, the old 4 speed is ok but reduces range on that front

what range are ya looking for

my old 4 speed could easily do 180kph on highway with more to go

all day in bush in 3rd low, never needed to use any other gears, but theres a few more to choose

cost effectiveness ???
get an adapter for the 4 speed relatively cheap coz everyones done it, or spend a bit more on adapter for something thats not been done much.

take a trip out to Howat Engineering in Naenae and chat to Brian about the costings of different adapters for a tree fiddy to a range of different gearboxes, then you will at least have a some base prices etc etc etc

unless you want to throw unnessecary money at it then stick with the 4 speed box you've got, theres thousands of crusiers running 350's through them

if your gearbox is farked look for a 4 or 5 speed cruiser box with a stronger split transfercase on it
