I would of thought that you should only have it high enough to clear what ever rubber you want to run, any higher and its just a waste. With 35's on i hilux you will really only be dragging the diffs rather than the body and obviously the only way to get them higher is larger tyres.
If you can already clear your tyres and your staying with that size i'd say aim for the same height.
But then again you also want to try and match it to the front, whats your current front setup? if you plan on going rears in the front, a factory set of them will give about 3 inch lift so if you only have 2 in the ack you may want to do it at the same time to try and match the heights and keep it sitting level..

Only go as high as you need, one thing to consider would be to take out the body lift when you do the coons and RUF conversion, also if you're intending to put highsteer in you need the height to have room for the drag link and tie rod when the vehicle is flexing, if you intend to go highsteer in the future you really need to do it at the same time as the RUF and coons.
Pirate4x4 has heaps of info, they use chevys in the rear and RUF check the site out as you need a clear plan from the beginning.

wouldn't he need to keep a 50mm body lift to have room for the 5m?

Depends on the engine mounts, if.... as some have done and used the original engine mounts then yes........ but if it's had custom engine mounts (mine did) then possibly not

quite like the height it is at the mo the bodylift im kind of commited to as ive lifted the fuel tank 50mm and i have the gearbox lifted 35mm with a lowprofile crossmember
but if i could find a good tank to rear mount i could prob get away with a 25mm bodylift just to clear the gearbox, steering till i can afford a jafa histeer setup will be steves shortened draglink from his old supralux can anyone tell me if ill get cert with 35s and standard rear drums?
