Hi

I am a young guy who has just gone and brought a 1986 suzuki sj413. It is real standard with no mods bt is on 27" mud tires. Real enjoy being out in the bush with mates and beating my mates big surfs. haha.

I see all the mods that you can add and was wondering what people think is the best things to put on to get out of the truck with little as possible money??

Thanks
Joel

welcome, which area are you in? i have had a few zuks now, i think with an sj you can do a 2 inch spring lift, and fit some 30 x 9.5 mud tyres. thats enough to get you bashing through the bush :) someone might be able to confirm if a 2inch lift is enough for 30's but i think so.

lifted springs $320 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 414772.htm

30 inch mud tires = $400 - $600 ish

probably get it all a bit cheaper if you shop around

those springs are good for a bit of a lift but my mate bought some for his zuke and they were way too hard so he took a few leafs out to soften them up but then kept bending the springs, would recomend a traction bar in the rear to help but not neccasary for light offroading as we thrash our trucks a bit up here.
i also think just a 25mm body lift is enough to put 30 inch tires on without rubbing. i have a samurai with 29x7.5s but they mesure 30 and i only had slight rubbing at full lock and full articulation. just something to think about.

Few years ago about 5 went whole hog and put full set of tough dog springs greasable shackles and the biggest tough dog shocks that I could fit into my 413. They are still there now going really well but it took approx 18 months before the springs started to soften up but after that bloody brill. It was worth putting up with it in my opinion for that length of time
