Hi all

Got a suzuki samurai 1988 a G13 engine 13?? cc, had a bit of trouble with the carburetor ,normal standard carb (like you do ), so gave it a good clean out.
What is going on is she will take her time to start then when she does start it will only run for about 10 - 15 secs. Found a small amout of petrol leaking from the seal area which is between bottom of carb and manifold.

What i would like to know why would it stop after so many secs and then can be hard to start, but will start at a later time , to much petrol going into carb ??

Will point out all I did was clean out jets and did not touch the float.

Will try and put photos on as soon as i can.

check to see if suficiant fuel is getting to the bowl, then get yourself a rebuild kit and replace all gaskets and well just a complete rebuild did my carby a hell of alot. and check the spark plugs if it is hard to start. as for stopping after 10 secs or so try starting then putting throttle on and see if the jets are putting out enough fuel. its all about haveing a little muck around to rule out things. took me a while to sort out my problem, mine ended up being a mixture of the float level being wrong and the plunger thing being worn. cheers

check you plugs, leads and timing are ok first...... it sounds like its running too lean on startup, is it manual or auto choke and is it working ok?
