WANTED X4 10X15 beadlock rims

Post by petefj40 »

I'm not going to start a shit throwing fight here. Nor am I going to name names in a public forum.

But I am going to ask you. What do you think is a fair time to have to wait for a set of standard 10x15 steel beadlock rims to be made up, AFTER you've already paid for them up front (big mistake, not doing again, nor will I be dealing with the same 4X4 retailer again)???

I must mention. I did delay the process by a couple of weeks in regards to width size.

But since the sizes were confirmed I've been waiting just over 7 weeks. (over 9 weeks if you include my delay)

The thing i can't understand is. I'm a new customer to this business (or was) so I thought first impressions might of played a small part in any future business with the company? Like shouldn't new CASH paying customers get some kind of follow up call like, "sorry for the delay, we are trying our best" blah blah. But nothing. I have been doing the follow up calls.

I should of dealt with a local company and just paid the extra cost.
We live and learn aye chaps.

Just to make thing more private I've added a pole. :D

It's crap service i'd say, i'd be pissed off as well, they surely should be keeping you informed of any delays and keeping ya happy :D
Ask for a refund, and spend your money elsewhere, plenty of options.
I've been onto Rick about getting mine done as I like the rims I have, we're looking at doing mine here in CHCH, could do 2 sets which would lower costs

Hmm now that's a bloody go idea Tim.
If I haven't got some kind of positive response or time on getting the job done by the end of the week I will ask for a refund.

Almost all the cases I've seen or heard about unhappy customers is because of this sort of thing. Even if someone has fcuked it all up or forgotten about it (shouldn't happen but we are all human eh) 9 times out of 10 all they have to do is let the customer know whats going on and they will be happy to know where they stand and usually won't hold it against the business.

I'd say you've waited more than long enough. Tell them you want all your pennies back.

I dunno what the circumstances are with your supplier but I've had 2 sets done and with a busy engineer under a lot of demand and the first set was about 3 weeks and the second set about a week

To be fair Saddam n Taz.
I know the hold up isn't with the 4x4 supplier. It's with the engineering side of getting these things made up. But I still see it as the suppliers problem as they are the one organizing it. And as most would expect, I expected more contact and looking after if things are delayed.

The style of beadlock rim advertised (centers) weren't even the ones they are supplying for the job. The ones advertised looked mean. I did talk to the supplier about that but it didn't seem to bother them. :?

I dont disagree with you pete, we know a lot of these guys are pretty busy but the general rule of thumb is if it takes more than a month you've been dropped down to the bottom of the queue and theres nothing worse than having to chase people after that amount of time :?

Request your money back or a time frame for completion

This is bullshit.

Any reputable engineering firm will be able to give you some sort of time frame/deadline.

If they dont want to do the work then the supplier of yours needs to take their shit elsewhere.

Even if they are a day or a week late on getting you the goods- atleast if they have made a deadline they have something to feel bad for....

Get your money back.......

That's an absolute disgrace. I'd be demanding your coin back, eh.

poor communication is the number one cause of customer dissatisfaction. And 7 weeks? That's just abysmal.

Got them yet? I would ask for money back as

1) They are different to what you wanted and they show in the sales info.
2) Time involved in getting them done.
3) You can go somewhere else and get them done poss before the ones you have ordered arrive

I would suggest 3 weeks to have them cut, welded, sandblasted, re-powder coated and bolted on the vehicle, 15 working days would be my guess unless you get a call saying sorry X foobared and we are getting Y redone.

The company involved contacted me last night stating no progress had been made on the job.
They apologizing and offered a refund. I accepted. I thought that was good of them.

Thanks for input guys.
