No Idea

Post by jolle »

Hi guys

Since I'm a newby in 4wd i have a few questions.
I have a 88 Safari LWB high roof. I,m thinking about to lift her up.
Whats the difference between body and supension lift? why these tow different kind of lifts?
one can get lifts all over the net, some cheaper than the other and you can get these packers. which are cheaper than all other lift kits.
I'm coming from a country where we can't have a revolution, because we are not allowed to step on the lawn.......will say I wanne hit some tracks with my family in the summer, because it's possible.
That's why I ask. I have read a lot the last weeks but I'm stuck now.

Thank you guys 4 your help.

Welcome. I presume you want to lift to fit bigger tyres so the size you choose will determine the lift. Generally suspension lifts are better than a body cause you get lift plus travel and body lifts split mounts. Not sure what you meant about the packers, (coil spacers or gearbox spacers)
GU patrol 35s ect.

Spring lift is your best bet in a LWB I reckon. 3-4 inch should go in without many other dramas.
Wouldn't go near body lifts as they just rip out mounts (to much weight and stress on them) and I'd only use the packers if my springs had sagged on one side and I didn't have the money/didn't want to replace them.

If you search this or that site you will find all your info as it have been gone over many times before.
