When i was driving my safari in the rain I spotted little drips of water coming onto the floor while my carpets were out. I suspect the windscreen rubber/ seal is leaking although it looks visually fine. is this a common problem?
is there anything else that is prone to letting water in around the windscreen area on safaris?? just thought i would ask before i get the windscreen removed

water seems to be coming in around bottom of the screen in the corner near the a-pillar (drivers side only)

My Safari was doing that ,, both sides. Thought the same as you that is was the screen. It ended up being under the panel between the bonnet and the screen. They seem to rust in behind there.I took the panel off and took the fan out under by the glove box (passenger side up under dash ) . Sprayed non-smelling fish-o-lean up there ,, let it dry and did it a few more times,, letting the fish-o-lean dry between coats . It has worked.

Mine did the same.
GQ's are notorious for the windscreen rubbers shrinking and therefore coming apart at the joins, which are usually top and bottom at the corners of the screens. I fixed it with a bit of silicon the first time (passenger’s side), but when it happened again (drivers side), I fixed it with a hammer

and claimed it on my insurance!!

yep i looked it up on patrol 4x4 and they reckon just get a spatula and pry the edges of the rubber and squirt windscreen sealant in there. very common aparently

There is a small drainage tube in each bottom corner of the windscreen surround. They often get blocked up with crap and the water backs-up to inside the windscreen.
Lift the bonnet and you'll see the tube next to the bonnet hinge. A piece of wire or a squirt with an air-duster will clean them out.

damn yeah same here,
i havent been able to find my leak for 6 months. previous owner must have know about it too as i pulled the carpet away some of the floor pan came with it

. i had to cut out part of the passengers floor pan, just too far gone and weld in a new sheet. i left my carpets out and have under body sealed the floor pan and the surrounding area so i just wait for the rain to stop then get a towel and dry it.
i have had 2 windscreens in 2 years and silicone is all around the rubbers, so may have to investigate the other possibilities now. not that it rains a hell of a lot lately on the 'Coast', well sort of.

Yup windscreens are an issue but the other thing to look out for if you have a sunroof is a blocked or broken drain tube that comes down inside the drivers door pillar and can leak out round the kick panel ,,,only found this out after replacing me windscreen rubber and still had the bloody leak!!!

and was found to be this drain tube had broken and instead of draining the water out through the inner gaurd it was draining down my kickpanel
