Opotiki/East Coast/Motu Tracks

Post by Landcruiser70 »

Righto...

Heading down to the Bach in Opotiki this weekend and thought I'd go 4 wheeling. Anyone know of any decent tracks in the area? I know there's a few on the Motu but does anyone know of how to get there, condition, permits, etc? Went up to do the Waioeka forest access road last time I was down but couldn't find it in the end amongst the farms (didn't want to run the risk of trespassing). Also does anyone know what it's like up the Keru river (near Te Kaha)? I understand you can get about 5kms past Maungaroa station? I think there may something up the Haparapara too?

Any info's appreciated :D
