Got Piglet back from the paintshop today, all dressed up in it's new colours. Now it's time to put on the manual hubs and the 5.12 diffs.

Got to put a set of Maxitrac springs in a friend's Samurai on Sunday so should be all set for a couple of trips in early September.

i did this last weekend but can't be bothered adding it to last weekends thread started pulling another motor and transmission out of a car to fit into the g different one again a 3 litre sohc inline 6 with 4 speed auto tranmission started out just pulling out the loom and computer this one is going to take a little more figuring but hey it is there and running and cheaper to get mounts made to fit this one in than rebuild the other motor i had besides it has more power than the 2.8

put new big end bearings and main bearings in the V6, got some oil pressure now :D
mains were farked to the point of seeing the copper, the crank was unmarked, found out bolts are one use wonders and would cost roughly $600 for new set, so on advice of re conditioner the bolts are now used twice :D here's hoping i did not just put a hand grenade together

pedro

just gotta get my lockers back

Finally got my new engine running after a couple of weekends scratching my head. used old loom and modified it, added one new wire and hey presto it works, did a little skid and felt very happy. now just gotta figure out why it's revving so fast and find all the wires that make everything work with the new body.

Good work on sorting the Jenny out, um 1 point thou, the plastic hose you used will get hard and brittle and then snap, should really be a hose suitable for diesel

Cheers

Saturday got some new front disk rotors and pads fitted plus a new front left CV boot.. was a bit of a drama though - gettin the free wheeling hubs off too a while as the tapers had rusted onto the bolts.

Sunday I took the front bumper corners off and removed the rear bumper to get to the spare wheel holder. A bit of WD40 and the spare was free. Left the bumber off as it looks better and will eventually sort out some front and rear steel tube bumpers. Got a new white steel wheel to go with new spare tyre and tied it down as best I could with a ratcher tie down in the boot.

Still to sort out faulty alternator before going on any more trips. Then sort out a bit more lift in the rear to match the wound up front and have a look at the LSD.

spent the last week at the ICU ward at Waikato Hospital

Said goodbye to mum

drove home,

Washed and cleaned the truck in preparation of Mums last wishes, that her ashes be scattered at sea, going to take Dad (and Mum) up 90 mile beach next weekend until Dad finds a suitable place for her to start her final trip home to England.

had a great 4 days away wheeling a few minor truck issues as expected and a bit of damage for other guys, all was great until the drive home, it seams cops don't like my "rangi" mods with no cert etc... very expensive.
The cop didn't seam to understand that i wanted to test the truck before going for a cert in case i change everything, she couldnt understand why i couldn't test it by driving around the block..
