mu question

hi
i test drove a mu today, its a 1991 2.8 5spd with 251,000k and hes asking $2500 for it, dose this seem resonable?
also any problems i need to look for? what are they like off road?
also another thing, i put it into 4wd and it was a bit jerky when going around in circles, any idea what that could be?

they are all a bit jerky in 4wd on tight corners

They are a great car and the 2.8's are a fantastic engine, lots of power and very economical. 2500 sounds about right for a Mu but in saying that it has k's. If you were in 4wd on hard ground they do get jumpy going around in circles from driveline wind-up

whst are they like off road, how easy are they to moddify?

reasonable, seen some with 33'' on need to remove exs weight, troll throught the search function and see

I had one of these for 7 years,they are a great little wagon,mine was very highly modified,it was lifted 6",had ARB lockers,old man emu suspension,bared all round,warn winch,heaps of other bit and piece's,it was on 33'' tyres.
There were a few issues mainly with front end,i was always replacing bushes and wheel bearings,but part of the problem was that it was lifted in the front..check out our 4wd on this site mine is on there ..i miss my little MU i gave some of the big flash 4x4's a very big fright,some times i would drive around 4x4's stuck in bog holes ...lol..they really loved that ...lol..
