Well my work truck spat the dummy today :x
Blown head gasket with cracks on every cylinder :lol:
damn you mr toyota and your 2lte :lol:

Hey man that sux but with that engine its just a matter of time before it happens, Even the 1KZ is not much better once they are around the 230-250 thou km mark eh.

If you didnt keep the Prado and do a recon engine etc you could allways go a lwb Safari they are a great tough old work horse and a n/a td42 even preforms better than a 2lt.

When your around Ashhurst next give me a txt and pop in for a beer. :D

A new head is only $600, why not just replace it?? the head is the only dodgy part of the 2lte, its reliable as otherwise and a nice comfy truck....

new head, genuine toyota one, the cheap ones can cause problems and as it does around 1200km a week it needs to be reliable and at $1500 inc gaskets and new head studs aint to bad.
plus it was overdue for cambelt,water pump so its not all wasted,

Hey Dave i know a guy with a couple of 2lt engine's in various states, One might even be complete so if you need any bits i can give ya his details.
