Turboed 2.8 (3L)

Just turboed my 3L went for a drive and the turbo sounded quite noisey so pulled the drain off the turbo line and started the engine to find no oil coming out the drain. gave it a small rev to get a very small dribble of oil coming out. The oil feed hose has a good flow of oil coming out of it.
I "T"ed the oil feed line into the oil feed for the alternator. Ive read on most sites that this is how its done?
Checked my oil pressure after a ten min drive before fitting turbo and got 23psi at idle 600rpm and 66psi at 2000rpm
Any help on why there is so little oil coming out of the drain will be very appreciated
Cheers

This might sound stupid but you haven't "T"ed into the return pipe from the alternator by mistake.
Cheers Richard

Would there be less resistance in the alternator so the oil finds the easy path back to sump. thru alternator and not going thru turbo?

I am not an expert and am happy to be corrected on this
I think the the path of least resistance and the alternator vacuum pump is a likely to be just that ... Also I would have thought that this feed would be quite low pressure
A friend of mine has tee'd off the oil pressure switch and this has worked very well

I just just changed my T to the oil pressure sender and i get a very small amount of oil. constant dribble
Does any one know how much oil should be coming out the drain?
Cheers

I have blown air thru and seems to flow thru alright
Any one selling a ct20 turbo?

Person who used this turbo before me used rtv or silicon rubber to seal in the unlet to the turbo. Stripped turbo down tonight and the inside was blocked

You have to change your exhaust manifold (to one that accepts the turbo flange some use the 2lt one) and exhaust to a free flowing unit, put in an oil feed to the turbo and put in a return into the sump.
You should also use a boost compensator on the fuel pump and some recommend the thicker head gasket from Aust for long life but I know some that have not and do big miles but they have a pyro in the exhaust pre turbo and drive by exhaust temp.
The pump is the tricky bit the rest is spanner work and making a hole in and return fitting for oil at the sump.

im running a 3l with a turbo off a 2.4 diesel i got the vehicle off a mechanic who did it himself and he said it was a reallly easy job to do he used turbo pistons instead of using a thicker headgasket to lower the compression aswell which is a better option to go for in the long run as some people just be cheap as and stack up gaskets to lower compression
i have heard from my father who is also a mechanic that you can lower the compression by planing the block or head not to sure which one though

Did this when turboed my safari the first time.
When you get a new one use some of that gasket paper instead.
For a ct20 turbo you want between 1.5 - 2 ltrs a minute oil flow coming out of the oil dump pipe

If kept at moderate boost levels you can quite safely turbo a std 3l without having to drop the compression. As with any turbo deisel an intercooler is a good way to get extra power when turboing.
Planing the block or head will raise the compression not lower it
