Hilux diffs - need to change to an open to fit an autolocker

Post by funkyflynz »

Need a bit of advise/help. i have an 02 Hilux with a LSD in the rear, which is crap, i want to put an auto locker in but ive been told by a shop i need an open diff.

So the question is are the diff heads interchangable between different years? what do i need to look for when sourcing an open diff (trademe)

thanks

See if you can find a 4 spider open diff....they are stronger when fitted with an auto locker.

What he said. You also should check your` transaxle code and see if it is a "G" series diff head, in which case it should be interchangeable with earlier years (maybe :? )
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!
