If the 80 series front diffhead shares the same parts such as lockers as all other 8" diffheads - LJ Cruiser, Hilux then will say an LSD diffhead swap over?

Just a thought I had since I may have to replace my axles and spider gears.

Yup, just put a lsd centre out of my stuffed 4.3 hilux diff head into a 4.88 80 series diff head and back into the hilux housing.... although that means it kept the spline from the hillux so that could possibly be different.
If they are the same i've got a good open diff with no crown wheel or pinion

Well the manual locking hubs have the same spline between hilux and 80 series, the inside could be tricky though.

Longfield list a super axle set for 27 spline and 30 spline.

How will an LSD handle being in the front of a full time 4wd?

Not daily driven but driven occasionally and to tracks.

80 series longfield. diff end of axle is 30 spline, CV end of axle is 24 spline, outer end of CV 30 spline same as diff.

some diffs have 45mm side bearings and some 50mm, but you can get bearings so they fit in both carriers, something to check before you order new ones.

i put a 91 hilux lsd diff centre into my 93 70 series front diff(same as an 80), just had to put the bigger bearing races from the hilux head into the hi pinion head. oh had to change the crown wheel on the diff centre because they have different gear cuts.
