hi all,
really glad i stumbled upon this forum it's awesome.
I'm an Irish..... soon to be resident kiwi and have been in New zealand about 2.5 years .i bought a 92 hilux surf 2dr 2.0ltr manual petrol about 8 mths ago and i would like to put it to some of its intended use ... i recently brought it for a warrant and was sad to hear it had a leaky shock and heaps of play in the front wheels . So instead of replacing the ball joints and the leaky shock with two standard front shocks i put a whole set of raw shocks (front and rear) with new springs with 60mm lift

.. it then looked a tad strange on the skinny factory chrome rims with 30 x9.5s

so i went looking for some new boots and bought a set of 31 x 10.5 buckshot mudders with white rims and whaddya know ..i'm over 2k down but i have a semi capable 4x4

...
Red Rocks has been about as adventurous that i have been so far but I would love the opportunity to join some experienced drivers and see some more of what welly has to offer.
my main hobby is kayak fishing and would love to suss out some interesting spots along the coast to launch my yak while getting some off road action in too

as bolo stated welcome. There are quite a few surf owners on here so you'll be able to get heaps of advice and tips. There's a training weekend happening next weekend at rallywoods being organised by jerry. And as for kayak fishing Wopass is the only one on here that i know about but i bet there are a heap more. So good to meet u on here and hopefully out on the trails one day.

Hello paddy, fellow pom here mate and surf owner, like you say there's a great bunch on this site, so much info my misses is a laptop widow.
Live in .......well soon to be whitby as I've just bought a house and have a kayak, which I'd like to fish from but need some guidance, have this feeling the fish would be looking at me as I'm sat in the kayak looking up at the fish as I've just capsized
Get along to Rallywoods next weekend, will be there and looks to be good

Welcome Paddy. Here abouts are you from? I'm heading over to Galway at the end of the year. Got to stock up on some Barry's tea and Hula Hoops. Also have to eat as much boiled bacon and cabbage as I can! Might get some crubeen's into the missus to and see what she thinks haha.

hi taz . I'm from coolock in Dublin....we drank our last barrys tea bag the other day

and ate the last of our STALE jaffa cakes . the missus had them stashed in the bedroom for about a year... the best before was in april

.
i think it's time to call in a supply drop . why you would want to Ireland during the kiwi summer is beyond me ...was home for Christmas last year and caught the flu within a week ...for the 5 weeks i was home i was either jet lagged , sick with the flu or hungover

always great to catch up and drink real Guinness though!!
hey baza , i highly recommend kayak fishing ,if there's anything you wanna know or if you wanna join us some day let us know

the main thing you need to start fishing are rod holders and an anchor system (for safety if anything) . Then go from there and ad as many or as little accessories as you want... The forums on these great websites are full friendly guys like on here that will be more than willing to help out ..
http://www.fishing.net.nz/asp_forums/fo ... asp?FID=23and..
http://www.kayakfishingnz.com/forum/check out the rigged kayaks threads to get an idea of how people set up their rigs ...that's half the fun.be careful though it can get addictive . there's some guys with more electronics on their yaks than you'll find on an offshore trawler!!
hey jerry .i went in to cool britania a while ago and bought 2 yorkies ...they were about 3 bux each but damn they were worth it !!
