Thanks for showing the whole world... It'll probably end up in some advertising seminar now like all the other pics on here

How NOT to drive an expensive motorvehicle...
It looked like nice flat ground... kind of an animal hunters trap... sticks laid out over a big washout and pine needles hiding the drop... must have been pretty close to falling on its side... felt like it was a gonner!

I reckon Rik laid that trap for me on purpose...
I trashed both rear quarter panels that day... one very very mashed, so I'll borrow Dieselboys idea of replacing panelwork with real steel I think... Although its kind of a nice feeling to have taken it somewhere quite technical and gotten through it all, and finally to have my own paneldamage to show off
Like the rock crawling bumper sticker says: "Chicks dig body damage"
So Matt, now I know how you felt the other day... in all the years of driving thats as close as I have come.

We had a bit of drama like that at work today.... one of the boys put the skidder on its roof

"he went to far...."
quite a sight walking the digger down for it, its a 740 john dere each one of the wheels is the size of a mini

.... didn't look so good with them up in the air tho

Oh and no panel damage

build em tough for our game

30 ton sumitomo

I could lift the whole skidder if I wanted to...

well have a good go at it
Were clearing poplars off a farm some of the piece size would be 6+ ton
Hey Steve, finally got my lathe

so I'm all keen to finish that disk conversion, you got any disks ??
Oh and I will be building a tube bender some time soon.... should work out at half the price

I'll throw your engineer mate the plans, save spending the big coin to get one in ex states

just thinking about it since your talking exo cage...
Cheers Reece

Might be too late... not sure what the wifey has planned for my birthday... but I believe she was emailing someone at pro-tools so I could be a happy wee camper in a few weeks

If nothing eventuates I'll let you know
The pricey bit is the dies anyway... the bender is chump change... I need a 3/4" a 2" and a 2 1/2" set of tube ties initially... Gonna build a few exos, a few bumpers, a few rocksliders, a few rollcages, a few boy racer offroader exhausts... gonna get rich by getting great big gorilla arms

Then I'll build up a space-frame rock crawler
As for disc rotors: I can get you some new ones, nothing second hand here... new are only about $100+ per pair anyway, not worse freighting old ones across the country at that price... are you after standard Hilux solids?
One of the things that really stuffed me up in this thread is that I have done the disc conv and so I stopped... thinking I was going to go over more if I kept going... if I had the old drums I would have rolled further forward and leveled the truck again (I was actually at the bottom of the washout and on hard ground - just couldn't see it)... damn fandangled brakes that work... Not used to that

sounds good here's a couple of other sites to look at if your looking at the manual bender
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7541212146&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT
http://vansantent.com/model_3_bender.htm
I've been doing a bit of research on the style of bender I'm gona make
Oh and I'll pass on the disks, just negotiated trade on all my parts

but still keen for the ranchos
Cheers Reece
