Lake Daniels??

Whats the four wheel drive track to lake daniels like & how do you get there?
Would a stock 85 3b 70 series on a/t tyres handle it fine?
I want to 4wd to the lake edge then kayak around the lake to the manson nicholas memorial hut.
Is it possible to do with 1 4wd or is that begging to get hopelessly stuck?

It's private land buddy and if you aren't a shareholder or have a shareholder to go with you wont get in. One reason why I joined a club was to get into her.

It is owned by the wilderness company . They have a locked gate at Thompson Flat and let clubs go in there on a booking system.

It is rated as a Grade 4 trip by clubs so is not suitable for a truck by itself

Even if you could get access you can not drive to the lake now as it is on DOC land and there is alot of windfall across the track.

the guys are correct in what they are saying a group of us go in each year. It is private land and we have a permanent booking (rotating deposit) sort of thing running with the guys.

However I think you can go in at the other side of the lake where it is public land? pretty sure my mum and partner go in lots(fishing) and just have to go down a basic farm track (flick the farmer $20) and head to the lake. I cant be sure because i only go in the private side and stay in the best hut around but its worth looking into.

as above and your stock 70 would probly get in there if you stick to the solid line,ive seen guys playing around in there while ive stayed at the hut they can drive the whole way up to that gate,and there is another track down from the ford that gets to a point where your stock 70 wont go,the whole place is as hard as you want to make it,but worth checkin out
