Mahia Hunt Club Urewera Safari 4th-7th Feb 10

i remember a while back a couple of people were interested in this on here i think heres the entry info, just copy this into a Microsoft Word document or pm me with an email address and i can send it on.

This runs the opposite years to the motu safari and is just as good (if not better :D ) and you get to see a bit of the country side. not sure of the exact route this time me and a few club guys will be doing the reccys shortly, but it is almost always different from the previous event.





Urewera Safari No. 5

In conjunction with East Coast 4WD Club

Do not miss out enter early and avoid disappointment. This event has in the past filled before closing date.

Start: Thursday 4th February 2010 (Waitangi weekend)
Finish: Sunday Midday 7th February 2010

The Safari will cover country between the Napier/ Taupo road in the West and Mahia in the East.
The aim is to travel across country as far as possible, subject to weather conditions, with safety being paramount.
The Safari is designed as a family affair, camping each night along the route, a chance to make new friends, see a unique and untreked part of New Zealand and enjoy local communities wonderful hospitality. As per past events the local communities will be offering breakfasts and evening meals at reasonable prices.
Entries will be done in teams of 3 vehicles (If you don’t have a team enter anyway and a team will be made for you.)

Cost: $270.00 per vehicle
Deposit: $50.00 per vehicle due 15 December 2009 (Non refundable)
Balance: $220.00 per vehicle due 10 January 2010

Limited to 115 vehicles
Re tyres: A good condition more aggressive tyre No dogs
with at least 50% tread life left will cope No firearms
. with basic route. Excellent fishing in lakes, rivers and sea

I had to pull out - picked up an allergy or something that has blown my head and shoulders up like a balloon :shock: :evil:

So now there will be 5 trucks from Manukau 4wd doing it

and some super swampers :lol: , it may get changed to a few gravel tracks instead of farm tracks, which would be a shame....

hahaha yeah could be good fun out there, depends on how many tracks have slipped, may not be too bad these guys get good support from the land owners who will probably get out there with their bulldozers and help things out. there are a couple of rivers that may be in flood after this last week but provided the rain can hang off they might be alright come the weekend.

usually there is an alternate way round things and a lot the harder stuff for the novices and shiney trucks is optional aswell.
if i hear any thing else i will let you know up till wednesday when i head up to ac/dc :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
