centre box differences

Post by flyingbrick »

The middle console center bit that ya left elbow rests o while driving.... mine has a really shallow box because below it was all the rear passenger heater crap....

Did safari's without the rear passenger heat system have deeper storage boxes?

Most Safari's had the heating sytem for the rear in there...you would need to find one from a Patrol as they go all the way to the floor, you can fit a heap of junk in them!

Remove the rear heater unit and connect the inlet pipe to the outlet pipe with a section of hose. Alternatively, you can remove them at the "T" at the firewall and plug the gap left behind.

I've got the compressor for air-locker in my center console.

I've got a 93 swb Patrol, no rear heater and its the shallow box. Might be another year thing, unless you mean that it goes to the floor under the false floor of the useless box. At least they got the cup holders right haha.

Go pull your shit out of the useless box and unclip the false floor. Tell us all whats in there.

It may end up being like 10x larger than you realise.

Schweet! Finally found somewhere to put Alexia's giant face.

Since it was shallow like the Saf I just assumed it would be carpet under there. Assumption is the mother of all fark ups as they say.

This is going to be handy for smuggling booze into festivals as well.

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!

Parents terrano had a similar false floor.........funny because we got broken into once. Every compartment was searched except the one under the false floor- and thats the only oe that had stuff of any value in it.

useless piece of info but on my saf i run a compressor behind the seats. It was overheating so hooked up the rear seat blower to push cold air to the compressor head and seems to work pretty well. tis tempting to dump it all and get that space back though.
