Wellington region....were to go??

Post by KiwiMR2 »

This Friday afternoon I was hoping to drag a mate & his SWB Pajero out to somewhere in the Wellington region. I've done red rocks before and was hoping there may be somewhere a bit out of wellington, maybe up Otaki/Levin sort of area were we can take it for a play.

Can anyone reccomend anywhere cool to go for an afternoon trip??

Cheers

apart from odlins rd and reds im not sure of many places around welly that you dont need a key/permission... have a look at the odlins rd photos in the photo album. its at the summit of the akatarawa hill rd. be warned tho, take tirfors if you plan on going down the side tracks and there is very little cell phone reception. but the main trail is easy enough. other than that find out who can get you into rallywoods or something, then il be keen as beans to tag along!

Its the track just before the big winch on the way to the hutt, its supposed to go for 2.5k, wen't down there and the track was washed out by the river so had to come back up.
