Easter Weekend 3 day Trek

Post by Botfly »

:D Hey Guys.. Just in the process of organising a 3 Day trip for as many people as i can muster... anyone who is interested in the slightest get back to me.

I havn't found a suitable place just yet but i'm on the scent.

I'm well open to suggestions so give me a text on 0273393882 or reply on this..

I'm guessing somewhere in North Canterbury as i would like to do some small game hunting at night  .

As i'm relatively new at this dont expect the earth but it will be what you make it.
Cheers, Josh

Gidday Josh,
and welcome to the site. Hope you got some takers, a few of us CHCH guys are headed down central way for easter so don't get too dissappointed if the response is low. Keep an eye out as us CHCH boys do a few good trips both day and overnighters/pisstrips. Easter is usually a family event to keep the women haapy so we get more pisstrips. We have a trip organised for this weekend if you are interested, PM me if you are.
Al
rain, hail, sleet or snow, we go!

Cheers guys.

Yeah it might be just a quiet trip this easter... Is molesworth any good?

No unfortunatly this weekend isnt on the cards for me as i'm going to the wild foods festival on the coast (keeping the women happy).

I appreciate the support and i'm pretty much allways keen for any trip so dont leave me out :D

Yeah, I found the Molesworth scenery great, for the first 20mins anyway. Ended up putting the foot down to get the hell out of there.

Looks like I might have to go for a look around the West Coast over easter to find a little mud  Been meaning to get over that way, so it'll be a good excuse :D

Did the Porika a few weeks ago, only needed 4wd when we had a look around the pylons. The Maungatapu is more challenging

Might just be my spelling :?: But its the "shortcut" from Pelorous Bridge to Nelson. Used as a service rd for the Transmission towers, I'm sure you would've done that one?

When you cross the single lane bridge at Pelorus on the way to Nelson, instaed of following the main rd round to the right, you carry on straight. Ends up in the Maitai Valley, goes past the Nelson water supply, past the domain (boy racer hangout). Can be fun in the winter when the track is a little more cut up, but I usually drive over this way as the main rd is boring.....
