My 86 hilux build!

Post by rob-mu »

Well after getting my new truck back from Welly to my home town of Christchurch everything was well except a small oil leak,Turned out to be coming from a olive on a mechanical oil pressure guage. So i swapped it over for a electrical Autometer (Phantom series) item i had..Bugger it I'll just buy the set! Just picked them up today from Edge parts and performance,They do Autometer for a real good price.
Also got a few things from SNR..Mr2 Break conversion,High steer arms,This list will grow soon.
And a IFS steering box from muddyhilux. On this topic are the longer 2wd rods hard to find?,I have had no luck yet.
Plan is to just enjoy my truck over the summer and use it for what i intended to use it for Hunting!.But the 4wd bug has hit so chances are it wont stay like it is for long.

Will post picks when Imageshack allows!!
Thanks,Rob

Good work, some one else is into a lux.

Show us some pics of the wagon (as above).

Did you get the Mitech off PMT? if so, you will find that if you have any problems, Paul will stand behind the gear. I have a 60a Mitech plasma, and a 240a Mitech mig, and bang for buck, I don't reckon they can be beaten.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Nice looking truck you got there rob. Would a big commodore fan fit in there? Got one on mine and it moves a shit load of air.

Before i bought my mudzillas on 10 inch rims i tried some super swampers on 8 inch rims and they rubbed real bad.

Hey Bro. I hate to be the bearer or bad news, but do you know the cfm of the 16 and 12 fans? I suspect that you will find that the 16 moves more air than the two 12s combined. That was the case for me. Anyway hope its working out for you.

Cheers.
