Ive just finished putting a lockright(with side gears) into the rear of my 413, it seems to work fine but for the noise when turning tight on the road.
It says to expect a clicking noise when turning, but seems a bit more than that. Anyone else experienced the same? Will it get quieter as it beds in? Thanks

Did you test it was working correctly when wheels were still jacked up?
Hold one wheel then spin other forwards and then again backwards (test on each side).
When done correctly you will hear the ticking as the teeth slide over without engaging. That is the noise you can expect on the road.

Never get any noise from the front one in my Prado and it gets regularly driven on really tight hairpins that are hard packed clay/gravel mix like concrete in 4wd. Its a 4 side gear version.
I occasionally feel it clicking though thru the steering.
Is it shimmed correctly? Told this makes a huge difference and mine had this done properly.

I have a lockright in my escudo rear end and it makes a few clicking sounds on slow tight turns(carparks etc) but not loud clicks or anything

I have it at the mechanics now, I rang today an they have it apart but cant see much wrong with it. they have ordered a couple of washers that look a bit worn? Hope that fixes it

You need to rock it forwards (test 1) then backwards (test 2) then jack up the other side and do the same again (test 3 & test 4).
It is very important to get the washer thicknesses and spacing perfect, otherwise it wont disengage properly when cornering (probabily the problem you are having).
