Supercustom van engine.

does any one know if a supercustom van motor will this bolt straight into my ln61 surf?

yep bit a changing first ie:oil pickup,sump,engine mounts,to be safe i changed over flywheel clutch etc as well and if yours was turbo you end up with a bundle of unused wiring and no rev counter

is the super custom motor an L series or 1kz? L series will bolt in with Taz01's mods

Im not sure on motor numbers, but its out of a 94 supercustom, 3.0td?
would that bolt into my ln61 etc?

super customs (93ish on) are 1kz

its too hard i wouldnt bother. By what i hear u need to cut and weld mounts n the chassis, wiring is completely different, etc etc. If u can find a 3l or 5l thats not much modification and theyr not far off in power to the 1kz

they have a few who have done the conversion on LN130's. not sure with the LN61, a few things may be different especially gearbox wise.

a 3L or 5L conversion would be easier as there is no ECU to wire up.

I have a 3L in my 84 lux (non turbo 2.8L) its not exactly a speed demon but still (just) manages to pull my caravan around the country (at 95km with a tail wind and 30-40km up hill)...

Its loads gruntier than the 2L though...

Now thinking about putting a V6 holden in just need to convince the mrs its "money well spent" lol - that seems to be a common swap if your looking for a decent amount of power

NA Hiace newer than about 98? Hilux 98 to 2001 or so, newer than 2001 Hilux has the 5LE which has an electronic diesel injection pump which will be more complicated to set up.
