i need a lower geared transfer case for my 85 suzuki sj413..i heard tht u can put transfer case of a 410 wich is lower.if anyone know anything of this please let me know..

it is possible (baby lobster I believe it's called - 12% lower gearing in hi and low) and will allow you to run 30 inch tyres without becoming gutless and ridding the clutch all the time to take off. Not sure of what year etc but the post 84 410 t case and the 413 are almost identical with just internal differences (parts from both are used to make a rock lobster -12% reduction in Hi and about 80% in low). Pre 84 have a different casing (dont have the 4wd switch on the box by the gear lever) so arent compatible for swapping internals but may have the same mounting points for the chassis mounts.

Oh yeah and the flanges are probably differnt too but should either swap over or just rotate them 45 degrees and redrill for the 413 shaft flanges (slightly bigger offset)

hey well i did this too my samurai, made quite a bit of difference. you are looking for a 410 t/case with a 4wd light ( a wire or 2 coming from the t/case. dont be cought out by buying one without the light as they are not as low geared. i had some info about this a while back but cant find it anymore. iceyaka on here gave me all the info about it as he knows quite a bit about them. if you really want to go lower geared you could make a rock lobster out of a 413 t/case and a 410 (4wd lght one) this gives you heeps of grunt, enought for 35 inch tires. just a sugestion.

where are you? ,i have one here with the light switch that i might part with but the freight could be an issue as i'm up in Whangarei
