Malfuntions beasty Jeep!

Post by petefj40 »

I was sick of the long thread about your truck on Facebook Mal.
Here's the best place to show those mods off on ya truck mate. Hope you don't mind.

I must say. I recon it looks like the shit. I'd love to know how you get those 36's smoking on the road with that tickled up 4 litre.

So far we know, it has rubicon 4.5xd spring kit, edelbrock extreme travel shocks, strengthened axles and gears..
Tell us more!

More close up pix to please.

Good point Daniel. Pitty skiddy wasn't as clued up as you mate..

I'll be honest here. I was surprised to hear Mal say on facebook what his 4 litre Jeep could do. I struggle to do the same with 1.7 litres more under the bonnet than his setup. I thought, lets put him in the right place to brag about it...
But still. I was interested to hear the details and see pix of the beast.
So, to start with, it was a bit of a piss take. (good on ya Daniel)
But after reading more about him on FB and his interests, I've come to think he's a bit of a cool bastard. And hey, his Jeep IS farking cool :!: :!: :!: :!:
And the more I read of his Facebook pages? The more I like the bugga.

So what if he's new round here. We all were at some stage.

Daniel. You nailed it. And i love a straight shooter that doesn't fark about postiing small text that's hard to read as if they are afraid of stating how it is. Grow up skid.

Thanks for the compliment Pete :)
Just one thing, the jeep engine is 190hp and 225 ft/lbs in standard form. With the way the gearing has been lowered its quite capable. Taz01 has seen it going as has moriarty and Robo and Willies been in it a few times. Even i still get suprised each time i drive it as to its power and capability. We think it may have a altered transfer bozx as well and I can hold 5th in the beach in very soft sand. I realise a 8 may have more power but if you do a google and read up on the jeep 4 litre it gets praised for its offroad ability. infact to quote wikipedia "This American Motors Corporation legacy engine was redesigned by Chrysler to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness. The last in the line of the seven main bearing AMC inline sixes, the 4.0 is regarded as one of the best 4x4 off-road engines.[3] The 4.0 AMC six has many after market parts due to its longevity and durability. Many of these engines are known to go more than 300,000 miles (483,000 km) without rebuilding."

I get a lot of shit from people due to the fact its a jeep. But everyone thats seen it in the flesh is quite impressed :)

And to be honest the more people give it shit the more I love it!

Just to break up the petefj40 love fest going on here..

.. What can be done to those motors? How many broken axles does it take to get one of them to 300,000miles?

Nice to see a Jeep being done properly, my mate had a cherokee for a while and that 4.0 motor really is a great motor, the only downfall is being thirsty.

Get used to it Mal, everyone that hasnt got one that has some form of penis envy or daddy issues seems to feel the need to take the piss out of a Jeep. Dunno why, 'cause you dont hear too many Jeep drivers bleating about other types of trucks.

Enjoy the ride pal.

Yeah your right there, so i guess that means ol skiddy has the smallest penis ;)
I am actually growing to love my jeep and everytime I drive it I like it more!
Funny thing is that I was actually more interested in FJ40s when I was looking for a new car as I have never really been a jeep fan but saw this Jeep and had to have it :)
