newbiw EXPAT K1w1 from Malaysia

gidday newbie from Malaysia here but not newbie to 4x4ing

I run a according to the rego card a BJ75 (1987) troopy with a few items on it's but mainly stock apart from the 35" sneakers. Its known as YELLOW to all my friends.



and I run this monster jungle bulldozer (its name is RED DOZER)

which is a nicely junglebashed LJ77 with a 13B-T running 14B-T fuel pump and 21psi boost (yes im not joking) and a H55 G/Box and a few other goodies including AISIN ELECTRIC/PTO winch. Electric lockers converted to AIR, Air freespool on the PTO etc.

and this the latest toy (ya ya ya thhe future wifes handbag car).



with a a newly transplanted 1KZ and AUTO and a new paintjob. 35'' sneakerrs to be installed this week.


Anyway I was going to post the story of the 10 days of the Malaysia International Rainforest Challenge if people are interested as this year again we have a K1W1 team over again from the far west of WESTPORT.

I am sure we are all very keen to hear about the Rain Forest Challange, I know I am.

I followed it on-line last year - there are some posts on here that lead to the RFC websites. Was keen to hear how our Coasters were getting on.
Are they back for this year too or someone else?

I think I saw photos of your Red Dozer as one of the official vehicles last year. Would that be right?

LJ77? so is this coil or cart sprung? It looks very much like the Prado; LJ or KZJ-78 in the next photo. I guess LJ if you have swapped out to the 1KZ-TE motor.
I have the shorty version, a KZJ-71, the coil sprung 1KZ-TE engined version from '94. Factory electric locked rear and a 4 pinion Lock-right up front occasionally running Simexs.
And how does the PTO and Electric operated winch work? What have you done to air lock the rear locker and why?

thanks but I think mine has a few more scars and technically mine is the year before the official prado its a 1995.

In Japan and with the jap imports here the Prado starts with the LJ series - either -71 SWB or -78 LWB like yours with originally the 2L-TE motor. Later from about '92 the Prado was the KZJ-71 or 78 with the 1KZ-TE motor. These were all known as Landcruiser Prados. All were coil sprung both front and rear and offer more comforts than other 70 series Landcruisers. They also handle way better.
