Today I had a bit of time to trace it and figure out what it was off. I'm not a mechanic by any means so I a bit confused as to what I found. I now have another two disconnected hoses.
I'm assuming the black boxes are a switch of some kind. The left hand hose on the lower one comes from the air intake.
The hose coming out toward the viewer comes from the bottom of the turbo intake manifold part

The disconnected hose would have been connected to this

(The round cylinder bit in the centre of the photo)
The two hoses heading off to the right join together and go toward the brake cylinder (I think thats what it is, forgive me!)

(its the thick hose coming from the bottom right going to the t junction)
The thick hose coming out at 90deg from the t junction comes from the alternator. In the top left of the above photo there is another switching looking device.

The hose I'm holding was behind the brake cylinder, I'm assuming it's supposed to be connected to the black nipple bit there?
The hose is black with a red stripe on it, the hose that comes out the other side of this is black with a white stripe on it. They can be seen in the photo two above of the brake cylinder. The red one junctions off just before the hose from the alternator. The white one is the other disconnected hose. I can't actually see where that one goes, but it reasonably long and heads down the side of the engine.
I'd really appreciate if someone would be able to explain to me what this system is for and where the black w white stripe hose should be connected. I'm going with the other two need to be connected to the nipples right next to them?
