hi all
recently due to unforseen circumstances 10 litres of water entered my diesel tank and kill the truck.Ive taken the tank out cleaned and dryed the tank cleaned all the lines and cooler etc changed the filter and refilled and rebled the system.i fired the engine up and took it for a run it was running fine expect when i backed off the throttle and let the engine return to idle the engine would die. It took diesel line off section by section and put a clear bottle on the intake and on the return with the pipe end below the surface of the diesel when the engine is running a steady stream of tiny bubbles comes out of the return line similar to fizz bubbles
My question is What is causing these bubbles? assuming thier not supposed to be there
and what sort of flow should i have out of the return line?
cheers hamish

Sounds like you have air in the diesel lines, you need to bleed the air out of the system. Crack the hard line at the injectors and crank the engine over, you will have to do this one injector at a time and it is a little messy.

If you leave the air in there it can cause issues if it ends up as a big enough bubble that does not move, sometimes (according to the internet) it can move through itself but if it was mine I would bleed it myself.

Remember the pressure will make the air bubbles smaller and it will only be between the fuel filter and the injectors (including the pump).

thanks a bunch steve
it sorted most of the air bubbles but theres still a consent stream of bubbles ive since had a diesel injection specialist look over it and he thinks there is something bent or simply worn out
but he simply wouldnt touch it without it costing me a huge amount of money

Hi

I thought this was the model that had the diafram (rubber thing)in the injector pump.

Have you checked this?

I would also do a search on I8hmud.com
