Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to where i might find an awning or tent type set up that could attach to the rear of an 80 series?
Have got the 80 setup with a bed etc in the back, just want something to go over the rear doors and provide a bit of shelter for cooking/beer drinking etc...???

yea something like that would be ideal, although just looked up their website and looks like even the base model is $800 plus.
am now thinking more along the lines of a tarp and a couple of tent poles, but will see....cheers

tarps all good, just use the rear rail of a roof rack and buy some camp poles from mega 10, if you have a roof rack it will cost you less than a hundy for a tarp 2 poles and a box of beers

The tarp and poles works a treat, keeps it simple and cheap, all i've ever used

I hate signatures

I was thiking of making just what your after.
For the vehicle end i was going to make 2 poles with a flat plate on the bottom...then id simply drive over the plate to hold the poles up right (real estate agents do this to fly a flag at open homes)
Then get 2 more poles & 4 guy ropes to support the other corners....was going to buy a "blue" tarp from warehouse & cut it down to suite the size i want.

tent fly would be good, those old A frame tents are pretty much a kit for this
