Have been meaning to make up some front bar work but wanted to chop the Front quarter panels first ...... Well finally got around to starting this morning.

Will use the LED's you can see in the first pic and modify the plastic grill to fit the new lines.
With this chop, the recessed winch and 35" tyres ( not on ) it has greatly improved the approach angle.

Probably just slip the LED's in this arvo so I can use the truck.

Lots to do but just quickly mocked up grill and LED's with clear tape so I can figure out what I am going to do.

Still thinking ??.. ......... But my current plan is

The bar that I am going to build will have a main tube running from the winch mount out and up towards the wheel. It will have an up right which will fit between the headlight and LED's. An external hoop will go tie everything together.

One reason I am posting this as I go is that any suggestions would be most welcome....





Can't see the body lines of the truck very well in the pics but they actually look pretty good in real life

Put the side lights on and sprayed some black paint to help me see what I am going to do with the front and side bar work.
Will tidy up all the trim and body putty once I get the bar done.

i had some issues with the cert man and wof guys when it came to the angles and visability of indicators on the front of the vehicle, all that stuff sorted? there is some stupid rules about that

2" spring lift and 1" body lift.
33" BFG's in pic with 12mm front radius arm spacers
Has longer travel 80 series shocks and superior flex arm.
Radiator and air con have been moved back to allow the winch to be recessed

what brand springs are you running and are you happy with them?? seems to be so many opinions on different brands of springs

OME springs and shocks.
They have been OK except the back left spring has sacked out abit.

Well it took a while to get around to it but finally had a chance on Sunday arvo to do a bit more. Still have to tidy the grill up and put some side bars on and bits and pieces but the basics are done.
Will do something about the back at some stage but want to push the rear axle back 4 or 5 " first before doing anything

something different on a safari thats for sure,nice flex on the front with that arm as well

Very nice work. Those angles against that bucket would look even better with 35" tyres. You have definitrly got me thinking. And I thought I was getting towards the end of modifying the old pig .

I don't know if it was good luck or good management but I am very pleased with how it came up. ..
A lot of the local Suzuki owners are nervous seeing it coming down the road toward them ...
Still need to finish the grill as there is a gap on each side where the grill is missing. The grill actually comes out between the barwork for easy access and the winch clutch has an air ram on it and is activated from the cab.
I don't think it would have looked right if I hadn't have moved the winch up and back as I have.
Still waiting for those 35' Simex's and if I can find some spare $$$ wouldn't mind swapping these 33's for some of the new 35" BFG's
