Taipo River access/track condition??

Does anyone know if the 4wd track up the taipo river is open to the public? understand the track goes as far as seven mile creek/dillons hut?? cheers....

Yep, public can drive in. Pretty much 2wd until you get into the valley and have to do some rockhopping through the massive slip.

I drove in there over Christmas in the standard old mistral to just about the hut for a looksie, someone has been through recentish with a dozer and smoothed things out in the valley.

That's a bummer, it used to be a good little rock hop through there and across the stream.
