Custom supersharger setup for Pajero/Triton

Post by NLShorty »

Hi all,

Have been toying with the idea for a while of selling my custom supercharger setup and possibly the SOHC 3.5V6 aswell, depending on interest.
Have recently taken a job where i have access to discounted turbine fuel, so i think it might be time to switch to a diesel, if i cant sell the bits i will probaly sell the whole shorty at the end of the year when i can afford to upgrade to a longwheel base.
Basicly it's a full custom setup based around a Eaton M90 supercharger, intercooled and running a fully laptop programable ECU (Autronic). No expense was spaired in the setup, very reliable and makes extremley good torque and power for offroading, have recently done a trip to fraser and all of cape york and went like a dream the whole trip. Has 3 maps to choose from in the ECU depending on the fuel available (91, 95 and 98)
Here is a bit of a run down on the setup/cost to build:

Brand new Eaton M90 supercharger $3000
Custom manifolds, supercharger mounts and
intercooler tubing $2750
Custom built Autronic 'plug and play'
ECU. (no changing of original loom needed) $2800
New 6 rib pulley's for fan, P/S and blower,
brackets and new tensioner setup $800
New higherflow in tank fuel pump $190

Extractors and high flow cat $750

Oil/air seperator system $220

Dyno fee and tuning $1400
Will sell the whole lot as a drop in package with the motor or seperate if i find buyers for both. The complete package will come with Absolutely everything needed to convert over, Set of extractors, oil/air seperator system, wiring, airbox, lines ETC...

Everything was developed around my 99 NL pajero, but im fairly sure it will fit tritons of a similar vintage and possibly chalangers, as long as they have the 3 coil ignition setup, the only real hurdle would be to check the wiring and pin setup on the original/converting 4wd.

Setup has curently been dynoed at approx 220kw and 460nm of torque at the engine, fuel consumption is good, dependant on the right foot of course :) , does approx 16l/100 round town and 14-15l/100 on the highway. But the best part is the effortless torque, great for turning big tread and towing easily.

Asking price for the whole lot including the 3.5V6 is $8000 or $5500 for the supercharger+bits listed or $3000 seperate for my 3.5V6, wiring, alternator, starter, spair's, airbox, extractor/high flow cat, lines ETC.

My location is Wagga, NSW, Australia Can arrange freight to NZ no probs.

Let me know if you have any questions or are interested,

Cheer's, Ben

dont take effence, but thats alot of dollars for such low horse power and those torque fiqures are deppressing  (youre just ahead of the new hilux 1kd-fe donk, which is from the showroom floor)

and using the m90 sucker will break traction everywhere youle go....

but i do like the idea of going with the autronic, but i hope you realise theres not many gurus in nz that actually know how to talk with autronic system.......

but hey its youre wallet bud and please dont take my comments the wrong way,cos youve obviously posted this for peoples opinions and comments.......but what ever you do good luck with youre project

You are right about the new hilux figure's, awesome new technology engine making good power and torque.
You are wrong about the M90 breaking traction everywhere, it is the most useable and reliable setup i have used, has been on my paj for about 20,000k's now (half way round aus) and performed perfectly the whole way, awesome offroad especially in the sand where it makes most of its torque down low (not like the new hilux motor).
It is a completed project, not something im starting and is for sale due to me needing cash (hence in the for sale section). Think you have interpreted my post the wrong way, and by the way, at only 6 psi and a stock motor (no cams or head work) you have to admit there is alot more room for a shit load more power if someone wants it, but for me it is perfect for offroad work.
