For Sale Land Cruiser

Post by Runt »

Landcruiser, 85 mwb, blue, interior good, could do with carpet (or removal)

3.4 diesel turbo, motor has had $5600 spent on professional reconditioning around three years ago, including larger turbo and has done around 20,000km since, sat on the farm for a year at least! (not even properly run in) have papers to prove it

goes really really well, new air filter, two inch body lift, tractor tyres, has lock rear diff and good lsd front diff. Has toe hooks, cutom made solid rear bull bar, has half role cage, detatch toe bar,all se up for offroading, has been de-reged (relapsed)

missing winch (was one that connects to gear box) front lights, bull bars, snorkle, grill, mirrors (all was stolen)
suit off road but could be put on road with some effort!!!

front left panel has rust and some rust around the front window

sad to see it go, was originally bought for on road use, has only really had a little 4wd (i know what a waste)

asking 4000ish!!!!

Hi Runt, Where abouts in NZ are you? I`ve got a PTO winch plus drive shafts off a Nissan Safari that I wouldn`t mind chucking on my FJ40. I just need the box that bolts onto the transfercase and the gear selector.

Im not sure if your deisel unit would fit onto my petrol wagon transfer case :?: but let me know if you are keen to sell this part seperately.

Also, I know how you feel about those guys that nicked parts off your truck. I had someone try to nick the mags of my Safari but in the end just left the bolts undone - driving down the road and one wheel went right past the truck    has been a expensive and pain in the arse excercise to fix.

Its off a BJ73. 5 speed and Transfer Case seperate. As i said i have the gearbox part?? and the lever through the floor (Button on top missing) and one or two of the brackets that the drive rod would go through. Could possibly take some pics off the bits and post on here if you're keen. I have no idea what its worth so any reasonable 'offers'

You go for it first Wopass. I`ll wait for your pics so I can follow for advice. I`m thinking about putting my safari pto onto the cruiser (just need the unit that bolts onto the cruiser transfer case and bracket for drive shaft would be helpful to). Been looking on Trademe to and have a laugh each time I see you have already asked about the unit.

Did you get my message about the 15" x 12" rims? I`m still looking for some, what can your mate get them for?

Will a 5spd unit fit on the 4sd box??? (mines a 4spd split case too).

H20lova - could you measure the gaps between the bolt holes (for the unit that bolts onto the transfer case). I was looking at a unit on the weekend off a 5spd that was a little bigger than would fit on a 4spd gearbox.

so you have the split case transfer as well ! bugger, was hopeing i could sell you mt PTO for the solid cast case  ahh well

I was looking at a unit on the weekend off a 5spd that was a little bigger than would fit on a 4spd gearbox.

was that garys one in auck ? wouldnt fit your transfer ? bugger that means it probably wont fit mine either :x well hopefully H20LOVA's one is right. :D or a guy in aussy im talking to about one...or 2. if he has 2 that are the right PTO i might get both of them as we seem to have a shortage of split case PTO's over here and a few of us want them, heres hopeing

There are six holes in the housing. One each in the top and bottom and two in each side. from top to bottom (hole centre to hole centre) is approx 186mm. Holes in side from centre to centre is approx 80mm. from Hope this helps. If this one doesn't fit, i may be able to track down one that did come off a 4speed box.

Nice photo wopass :D If that PTO gear fits the 4spd split case then maybe Garys one might fit too (yip thats the one on Trademe I looked at).

We measured it against the 4spd box he had there but didnt look like a match. I`ll email him your photo with the measurements and get him to check again.

Yeah, he just called me to say the measurements were the same as in your photo. His 4spd that we compared it to must have been a 1 piece unit. I`m tempted to bid but will leave this one for you.

He also mentioned that he has the 5spd gear box if you are interested.

Hay H20lova, let me know if your one is a match (sounds like it is) and I`d be keen. Where abouts in NZ are you?

Wopass, I found a guy in Waihi that will widen my existing 15" x 7" rims to 15" x 12" for $60 per rim. Sounds like a good option what do you think?

I`m guessing that new ones would be at least $150 each???

sounds pretty good, ill try find out what the 15x12's are new so then you can make up your own mind, but yea they gonna be more than 60 buks each so thats probly your cheapest option

Right, actually got off my arse and measured the plate where the PTO gear bolts to the Gear box. Of course its not what I expected.

Wopass, perhaps this is the same as your old PTO?

Anyway here goes my first attempt at posting a photo:

http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/images/ ... oplate.jpg

Let me know if anyone has a PTO drive to fit this 4spd FJ40 gear box (if the measurements come up that is). Measurements are from hole centre to hole centre (even though it doesn`t look like it from my pic.

Wopass, yip that sounds good. I was going to offer to pick up the winch for you and drop it off to you on my way down to Waihi. I`m going to get that guy to widen my wheels (although can`t decide if I should go 15" x 10" or 15" x 12" - will post in seperate forum). Not sure when I`ll get down there though and I know you are keen to get the winch on.

When are you planning on comming up to pick it up? Saturday Morning?Maybe I could meet you at Garys? I`m sure he won`t mind. I need to talk to him anyway - he is in the same industry as you and might be able to help with my SOA.

I`ve been to Garys before (to pick up a fibreglass FJ40 roof). Its pretty easy to find (not far off the motorway). Give me a call on mobile 029 40 90 350 if that suits and I`ll meet you guys there (if OK with Gary) and bring the plate off my transfer case.

Hey H20lova, Thanks for your response. I`m in Red Beach (Nth of Auckland) and I see you are in Chch.

I`ll try Wopass' old winch first as he's going to be up here and could save alot in freight.

If Wopass' plate is a no go then perhaps I could send you a template to confirm they are the same size?

Cheers.

H20lova, Met up with Wopass last night and looks like his PTO gear matches my Transfer case. Thanks for the offer though.

Being the good bastard he is he also brought me up a new set of 15" x 10" Mangels

Have been up since 5:40am waiting for the tyre shop to open  Will def post a photo of my new babies before and after they go on the cruiser.

Is it snowing? Must be Christmas (feels like it to me :D )
