killing hubs

Hi

At the moment my 80 series vx is destroying it right front hub. Normally after a trip offroad. has done it 3-4 times now over 6 months.

Does have 3" sus lift would this be cause or is it something else?

wot part of the hub is it destroying?is the spline on the end of the cv stuffed & stripping the hub? :roll:

Won't be the lift. How much grease is packed in there, this may be the issue?

Do you have a photo? i would suspect the splines on the end of the CV are worn, jack the wheel up and remove the grease cap, roll the wheel forward and back to see how much movement you have at the hub.

it does not take a lot and usually if the splines are worn there is a clunk in the drive line, this is one of the reasons the Aussies went and developed a part time kit, the other was fuel economy.
