Have gotmy 1994 kzj78 1kzte powered prado its still running wrong..
i am over trying to fix it and am willing to pay someone if they are keen.

the injection timing is out and causing it to knock.

yep get nathan at 4wd acc on montreal st to have a look, a real good sort

if its a 1kz te it should self time using its sensors .A mate is having a similar problem .have just spent the last 3 hours trying to help him and have got nowhere.have got power to the injector pump but no diesel will flow when cranking.He has tried a replacement pump and it ran for 30 mins then stopped .I should say this is an intermittent problem .we have tried changing relays,ecu and anything we could find that unplugs with my same van but still no luck if there are any gurus out there any help with our 1kz te problems would be great

The pump is timed and then the computer controls the amount of fuel delivered, I agree with the above Nathan at 4wd Accessories knows a lot about the 1kz.

na um it was a (dont know which one) solenoid in the injector pump causing the timing to advance hard out

hi my surf surges intermitantly could it be the same problem what did it cost to fix?

ud know if ur timing was advanced man it knocked like a big end bearing wanted out
