Fitted 85% reduction/crawler gears. They should be standard on all safaris. Can now climb vertical banks straight up, goes so slow down steep banks in first gear you could sit there, steer with your knees and roll a smoke.

YUP, did that too, was an awesome place that will be re-visited in the future

spent an hour cleaning dust out of the inside of my 0 this morning, put extra screws in snorkel hat and siliconed in the mirror that fell out.

gonna take daughter to club members farm to retrieve items for another club member and drop off some diff heads for flattie, then cruise back over hill to Te Marua to watch Monster Trucks action and eat hot dogs and chips etc etc, then finally may make it home late this evening hopefully

Cut fron outter bumpers, installed tow hooks and almost finished head gasket. Found that the gasket seemed to just disinigrate, never seen that happen before, top and bottom of gasket just stuck witth the mating surface and center was soggy

Also found a cracked roller for the rocker arm, bearings in the cylinder(minor pitting) part of the rocker wedged under the cam lobe, swaped out cam and rocker shaft from parts truck. Fought cam belt for about 2 hours, finally got it rotated 360 deg and marks still good :D . Finish Monday eve.

I will when I do something (actually I did put the plastic bit back on the side of the drivers seat.....but that's not exciting).
Yup we'll be up at Mercer in a couple of weeks & the trailer's 100% kiwi (well a little Danish)....it's Neil's......it also has sides that can be put on for transporting other stuff & of course its almost completely alloy so light as ####!

Took out the butterfly and remaining EGR system on the Prado 1KZTE. (Blanked off exhaust and intake a few years back)
Had to do it insitu as I couldn't get the throttle body off.
The intake manifold was still as clean as when I changed the head after it cracked...Years ago.

Also set up the front end to the correct Castor, ready to make up some correction plates (Old offset bushes flogged out and replaced with std bushes)

Cheers

I can beat Furgus' 5 year build, my hilux has been in my shed since 2002  It's finally seeing some work as i need (want) it for my wedding car next month.

So this weekend ( I know I'm a couple of days late!) I picked up the fuel tank i had made, installed the remote oil filter setup, started the fuel lines and a bunch of other small jobs. And the biggest thing put on the new rims and tyres and pushed it out for a wash

Cant remember where the specs are so I'll just repeat them here!

It's a 1991 short wheel base chassis with a surf coil chassis welded on the back, engine is lexus 1uz-fe to R151 manual box.
Diffs are 4.88, lockright in back hi-pinion electric locker in front.
rear mounted radiator, custom fuel system, Alloy tank 80 liter with inbuilt 10 liter surge tank and Teflon over braid for fuel lines.
there's a million other little features that i can't think of right now :D

Was going to do this myself. Take long? Any noticeable improvement with the butterfly out (my EGR has had a pipe disconnected to stop it working)?
