Offroad-Express

Hey guys,

I'm new to posting here but have been reading through for a while.

I'm looking for a truck to do a bit of light(yeah we'll see how long that lasts) offroading and also something to tow a small trailer occasionally. I've searched through all the different 4WD's around and have narrowed my search down to a 3 door Paj.

What i'm wanting to know:

Of the 4 different engines (Petrol 3 & 3.5. Diesel 2.5 turb an 2.8 turb) which is the better of the bunch?

When looking at vehicles - what are some common things to keep an eye out for?

3.5 or 2.8.

3.5 is quite a lot more complicated than 3.0 but with plenty more grunt.

2.5 prone to cracking heads but I like the grunt

Some Pajero's come with factory diff lockers, worth getting if you find one with them fitted and its in your price range.

2.8 diesels are a good motor if well maintained, we had 7 at my old work some ove 400k 3 non turbs and 4 turbo, still going and hes got more now, petrol ones are grunty bt hard on gas.

I will have a 2.5 turbo swb auto for sale very soon. has factory rear Locker, just spendover 2k on head, water pump, cam belt, thermostat, belts etc less than 500k ago. Needs 2 tierod ends for warrant, but I have purchased them and will fit in the next day or so. Will be sold with new warrant. I will be after about 5ish for it

Get the one with the factory diff lockers in. Think they are pretty much in soft top versions only though.

Dont know if the 2.5 had em but the 2.8 & up did

Hard tops have them too, mine is hard top.
Its 2.5 too
