Hey Jono.
For some reason Toyota made an oval bush for the 80 series shock mounts. They even have nice little oval washers to go with them. A good quality round shock bush should absorb that change in the shape ok. I've had round ones for the passed 6 years.
One thing to watch out for is the diameter of the shock pin going through the mount. The 80 series factory shock is a large pin. Could be 16 mm. My truck originally had rancho shocks fitted and they have a small diameter pin. The clown who modified my suspension welded 3 penny washers together on top of the mount to reduce the hole diameter down to 10 mm. This would shag the bushes out in no time at all. Especially as he didn't weld them in the centre of the original hole.
I just spent half a day with a 20 mm drill bit and rotary file to fix the front shock mounts so I could run EFS shocks instead.
Are your shocks moving around in the mounts? What shocks are they?
Cheers
Jungle

hey mate, i have the raw nitro and i dont think they are moving. im trying to isolate a thud that i have at the left rear and it only seems to happen on small pot holes and corrugations. my shocks are coming out nxt week and going back to supplier to test, im tacking the mount to and see if they got a bush to fit.
