Has anyone removed a auto from a Terrano?
A guy I know needs his 1 replaced and he's been told the motor needs to be removed as the auto can't be dropped down.
Is this true?

I assume it will be pretty much the same as removing a manual box.
I did mine although I had access to a hoist.

You can drop it down but you need to remove the torsion bars, rear crossmember, driveshaft etc.

Quite a big job but I have heard of people doing it on their driveway with axle stands but I wouldn't be brave enough to try that.

The other issue is the boxes with transfer case attached weigh a fu**in ton, make sure there are plenty of volunteers around.

As ithas been said above i agree its a cow of a job.
I took just the motor out of mine (5 speed box) what a chit of a jobi had to remove the pressure plate befor it would come out.
I then took motor out of the auto one as it had been cooked n i had to remove the converter on the auot to get the motor out of it.
I guess its realy up to you as to what you do BUT the box wont come to easy which ever way you got.
