At long last it's fitted and it works, But not with out it's problems.

I used a RX7 turbo and reason I choose the RX7 turbo is that i was a Marshal at the winch challenge at Mike's Place at MT.Riley and there was a Black 4.2 SWB from down south with a RX7 turbo that went like stink, I was so impressed that I thought that's for me .

The overall cost was a bit more than I thought but at the end of the day It's what I wanted.

11am today my first run up a quick burst up road and I was so disappointed no power, No better than with out the turbo.

A quick ring to Craig's 4X4 in Blenheim and was told to increase the fuel by one turn.

Started it up and just the sound,it sounded like shear grunt I backed out of the drive and a quick touch on the throttle and I thought shit this is like a v8 with attitude.

So at the end of the day all the problems and troubles was worth it :D

I wouldn't rely too much on just screwing the fuel up by a turn. Get a pyro guage on it and get it tuned properly IMO

Hi Dave M,

One of our other members increased the fuel by one turn with a turbo that runs over 10lbs boost and it's been like that for a few years now with no problems, In saying that I have a boost gauge on order and as yet I only tried it with the dump pipe, as yet the exhaust is not connected, I only finished it today so it is still early days yet

what make/model turbo and what trim?

if your not running a boost comp then amount of boost you make has little to do with how much you wind the pump up.
EGT guage is cheap insurance.

When someone offers sound advice such as Dave and Tweake have, you'd be brave (or foolish) to ignore it. Turning up the fuel by a full turn IS asking for trouble, as it should only need 1/4 turn at the most!

Get a boost gauge and pyro on it, so you know how much psi you're running and just how hot it is getting....rather than guessing.

You should just run a boost compensator, get one off a td27 injector pump. But as the others said, you need those boost and EGT gauges.

Cheers Daniel

As I said it' early day's, I have a boost gauge and a pyro ordered, But I have backed it off a quarter of a turn and the motor sounds a lot sweeter
