discovery two xtra seats
discovery two xtra seats
Im looking at buying a disco, i want a 7 seater but i have found a cheap 5 seater. How hard/costly is it to put the two back seats in?
The seats are a bolt in jobby.
What colour interior is the Disco you found? Blue or Tan?
I've got a mate with a Disco with a blue interior and I am pretty sure he has already removed these seats. So there is possibly two cheap seats if you want them and they are the right colour.

They used to be approx. $800 for both seats, all fastenings & belts from the LR wreckers around the place. There was a set on TradeMe, but that was probably a year ago now.
Should be simply a bolt in job.
Not sure on legalities, but unlikely for anyone to actually question you on it??
Cheers

Bloody expensive but then this guy seem to try and sell all his Land Rover bits for near a million dollars each.
Darn sure you can get these much cheaper than this with a little patience and shopping around.
But then again, I am a Dutchman, I like things cheap.

The other things I forgot to mention were:
- blue seats should be cheaper than grey or tan
- the price I quoted was from about two & a half years ago when a mate priced them up. They should be cheaper by now
- not sure if the 7 seaters had higher rate springs in the rear? The overall payload of 5 & 7 seaters is the same, however, spring rates might be different between the two models?
Cheers

Alternatively - do what I do - I've fitted corrolla seats in the back of my FJ40 - did it properly by my standards - high tensile bolts & good backing plates on all the mounts. I've rolled it with passengers in the back & there was no hint of movement so I obviously did it OK. I just pull the seats out when I go for a WOF. Otherwise it would need certification...
