Lift spings from different vehicles to fit sj413

Does anybody know if there are leaf springs from different vehicles that fit straight into an sj413 that give a bit of a lift?

The reason i ask is that i cant afford a set of new lift springs atm but have a standard sj413 that has a set of 31x10.5 bfg all terrains that were on it when i bought it that are getting ruined very quickly from all the rubbing as theres only about 60mm between my tire and the guard.

Im just after a short term alternative untill i can get some new lift springs and shocks in the coming months.

If your after a quick easy cheap way to get a little extra lift maybe make some longer spring hangers for it. I doubt there are any other springs that would be suitable, although someone might proove me wrong

Yeah i thought that may be the case, I've just read a few posts on people using falcon etc coils in vitaras and thought there may be a similar thing with the leaf springs for sj413s

Suzuki van springs fit the rear and should give it about an inch of lift . You can put some of the van springs in teh front pack to lift it a little also . Not a good solution but a cheap one .

have heard of other makes being fitted but not sure if they were bolt in . mazda 808 etc .

mix and match , 2/3 inch lifted rears , mazda 323 , feroza , carry , swift springs. any thing the same width as a zuk.

Should be able to come up with some thing slightly longer that will work.

So could i measure some other springs to see if they would fit eg width and length? because anything longer would have a bit of bend to raise it up?(if you get what i mean) as at the moment the standard leaves are almost flat!

cant you just chuck some body lift blocks under it? hundy bucks will get it done.

Extend your shackles an inch , space down the bump stops front and rear untill the worst of the rub is stopped.

The problem with mix and match springs etc is trying to get it to sit at the right ride height and work well at the same time. its a fine balance. Far better off with stock-ish suspension.

the other option is to sell the 31's and buy some 30's or 29 SAT, way less rub issues and the truck gearing will be way better off road / on road .

Avoid a body lift like the plague. zuks are narrow and tippy enough as it is with out lifting the COG more

A body lift is a good option if all you want to do is clear bigger tires. As well as being cheap and easy, it wont raise your center of gravity as much as a suspension lift of the same size.

Ok, alot to think about there.

Body lifts- are they an at home job? ie basic tools etc would do it?

Spacing bump stops- how? and does it require cert?

Smaller tires are on the shopping list when funds allow (i know i shouldn't want smaller ones!)

I discovered how tippy the SJs are on the weekend, thanks to that i no longer have indicators on my front guards (you would think id learn after lying it on the side of the rut the first time )

How about cutting the guards to fit bigger tyres. You get to fit the tyres, while keeping with orig springs and keeping centre of gravity down.

Its a bit of a job, and you need to do some welding or have (find) a mate who can weld, but you can do the cutting, bending, hammering and fitting yourself. I did my own and got a mate to weld up the panels, then I painted the underneath with mulseal - and I work in an office
