Give Don Mathias at The Machine Shop a call.
Ph wk 374 6184 or cell027 349 5089. Workshop just off Gasson St in Chch.
He specialises in motorsport engineering, from adjustable uprights and brake mods, to 500hp capable close-ratio toyota boxes and puts these behind anything from Celicas thru to RWD Evo's engined beasties. Both endurance rally and race. He used to build successful Sprint Cars.
Don has modified and rebuilt my rear diff, the odd vintage car gear box and I have worked along side him for a number of years. He is one of the best Fitter & Turner tradesman I know and a very practical thinking Engineer. (I am one too, as well as being a Mech. Engineer)
In my Prado Diff we put the earlier type Cw & P into the V6 housing (massively different shimming requirements from factory) and made up a solid spacer for the pinion.
He made all the various bearing pullers and pressing devices to remove and install toyota Hilux axle and diff bearings.
Lots of rally cars use Hilux/Prado rear axles so he sets these up regularly.
He knows how to set pre-loads amd meshing correctly especially in high load applications which is more than I can say for some local mechanics.

Rick at 4WD Accessories 3651909 is pretty good with diffs as well. He did my safari diff with factory locker just before the big trip down south, no issues and he was pretty anal about getting it set just right as well.
