well the title says my problem.

i have a 87 ln65 hilux 50mm body lift and a 4inch leaf spring lift that has sagged down now. plus 50mm lift shackles. now my centre bearing between drive shafts to the rear diff keeps blowing out after about 4months . i have shimmed the bearing down to sit lower but the problem still happens. i was wondering if anyone can help me out here. im sure other hilux owners have had this problem. im getting sick of paying $150 for new ones.

help please

cheers

Standard motor and gearbox?
Have you got a drive line vibration?

Maybe get your drive shaft ballanced.

I posted up on the 4wdmonthly forum when my one busted. Got this reply from someone
Quick tip for the center bearing.
Get some sikaflex, and fill the void in the rubber carrier with it, let it cure for a day or 2, and then fit.
No more flogged out rubber, which is what fails.

My understanding is they wear out quicker the steeper your driveshaft angle. All I've done with my new one is fill it with grease as per the intructions it came with.

standard gear box and motor. it has been balancd when new one is put back on. We think it is because of steep angle of drive shaft. is it possible to lower the centre bearing???

Yeap steep angel will do it, if you lower the center bearing, you will start flogging universal joints. Mind you, unis are alot cheaper.
