Papanui Junction School and Hall Fundraiser 4wd Trek
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14th March 2010
10am – 4pm each day with an opportunity to camp overnight
Based at Papanui Junction Hall and School in the Turakina
River Valley (west of Taihapi) the trek will use rugged
private tracks on five local high-country sheep stations.
Designed as a family affair, the trek is fully catered with
the entry fee paying for a farm-house morning tea, bagged
lunch and ana evening meal on Saturday. Also: a farm
breakfast and bagged lunch Sunday. A pay par will operate
from close of play on both days.
You are able to camp on the school paddock on Friday and
Saturday night. For the Friday night campers, you are
welcome to use the bbq facilities. Bring your own camping
gear, Water and toilets are available. Shower facilities can
be arranged. The school swimming pool will be available,
with the understanding that you will supervise your own
children.
Genuine 4WD high-clearance, low-range vehicles required.
Good A/T tyres at a minimum (Preferably M/T). Drivers should
have some 4WD experience. The popular “mud hole
playground” will be back.
Limited repaior facilities are available. Fuel on a
cash-only basis may be available.
Cost per day Vehicle plus 2 persons $120
Extra adult & high school student $40
Toddlers and Primary school children Free
Vehicles entered for both days have priority. It would be
advisable to book early
